Best Geyser in India 2026
Geyser boxes lead with '5 Star' and litres, but what you actually live with is the type - a storage tank for a bathroom, an instant for a kitchen tap - and whether the tank survives hard water into year three. We rank on those, and on the service you'll actually get, not the badge.

How to choose a geyser in India
The water-heater aisle is sold on two numbers - the BEE star rating and the litres - and both matter less than the first decision you have to make: storage or instant. A storage geyser keeps a tankful of water hot and is what you want for a bathroom, where you draw a bucket or a shower’s worth at once; size it 15 litres for a couple or a small family, 25 litres for a larger family or back-to-back baths. An instant geyser heats a small 3-to-6 litre tank on demand and is really a kitchen or single-tap unit - it warms water fast for washing up, but it will not fill a bucket without a wait. Buy the wrong type and no amount of stars will make you happy.
What actually decides whether you’re still happy in year three is duller and rarely on the carton: whether the inner tank survives your local water. Hard water - the norm across much of India - scales and corrodes a cheap tank, which is why the warranty that matters is the one on the inner tank (five to seven years on the good ones), and why a glass-lined or titanium-enamelled tank is worth paying for in a hard-water area. Two India-specific traps round it out. First, almost every brand ships the geyser without the inlet/outlet pipes or the 16A plug - the single most common complaint across the whole category - so budget a few hundred rupees and a plumber for those. Second, service reach and honesty vary wildly between brands, and a tank that fails under warranty is worthless if nobody comes to honour it. We weight type-matched-to-your-room, inner-tank warranty and hard-water build, and real service experience from the recent reviews over the star badge on the front.
