Best Air Purifier in India 2026

Air purifier boxes shout '99.99%' and 'H13 HEPA' as if every model were the same. What you actually live with is duller: whether the CADR suits your room, whether the filter is cheap and available in two years, and whether the brand turns up when the sensor dies. We rank on those, not the percentage.

How to choose an air purifier in India

The air-purifier aisle is sold on two numbers that don’t survive contact with a real room. The first is the “99.97%” or “99.99%” capture figure - a lab claim every true-HEPA filter can make, so it tells you almost nothing about which model is better. The second is the headline coverage area, where “cleans up to 500 sq ft” usually means one slow air change an hour, not the two or three you actually need on a bad Delhi-winter night. The number that matters, and that brands bury, is CADR (clean air delivery rate): match it to your room, and aim for a CADR in cubic metres an hour that’s at least a couple of times your room’s floor area in square feet.

What actually decides whether you’re happy a year in is duller and rarely on the carton: whether the replacement filter is affordable and still stocked in two years, whether the unit is quiet enough to sleep next to on its higher speeds, and whether the brand has a service route you can reach when the sensor or fan fails out of warranty. An air purifier is a multi-year filter subscription as much as an appliance - a great-spec unit whose filters cost a third of the machine each year, or that you can’t get serviced in your city, is worse advice than a plainer one you can live with. We weight real HEPA, the right CADR for the room, honest noise levels and filter-and-service reality over the percentage badges.
