How we think about personal care
Grooming devices are a category built on big numbers that rarely survive contact with a real owner - “300 minutes runtime”, “40 length settings”, “12-in-1”. Runtime is almost never the problem; most people charge a trimmer once a month. The settings count is mostly two combs multiplied by twenty positions. What actually decides whether you’re still happy in month ten is duller and never on the box.
So we judge on what owners report: whether the blade stays sharp or dulls in a few months, whether it heats up and nicks the skin at the closest setting, whether the battery holds its charge past year one, and - the part buyers underweight most - whether the brand has service and spare blades you can actually reach. A trimmer you can’t get a new blade for is a disposable, however good it was on day one.
