How to choose a projector in India
Start with the one number worth trusting: ANSI lumens. It is a measured, standardised figure for how much light actually reaches the wall, and it is the number budget brands bury under a made-up “lumens” figure five to twenty times larger. A projector honestly rated at 250 ANSI needs a dark room; one at 600-700 ANSI copes with a little evening light; only a real lamp projector at 3,000-plus ANSI works with the curtains open. If a listing shouts “13000 lumens” but you have to dig for a “600 ANSI” line, the second number is the real one.
After brightness, two things decide the rest. Native resolution is what the panel physically has - “1080p native” is real, “4K supported” on a 720p panel just means it will accept a 4K signal and downscale it. And service reality: LED home projectors from small brands develop black spots, dead pixels and burnt polariser glass within months, and the owner discovers there is no service centre in their city.
