Cookware is sold on two numbers that tell you almost nothing: the piece count and the price drop off the MRP. A seven-piece set is not better cookware than a good kadai and a good frypan - it is more coating to wear out, and most of it stays in the cupboard. The choices that actually shape your daily cooking are duller. First, the material and coating: bare aluminium and steel last forever but stick and need oil; non-stick (PTFE/Teflon) and ceramic are easier and use less oil but wear out; ceramic adds the genuine “no PFAS, PTFE or PFOA” health angle that’s the main reason to choose it. Second, the build: a thin pan warps and develops hot-spots, a heavy 3mm forged or cast body heats evenly and survives years.

The other half of the decision is honesty about lifespan. Every coated pan is a semi-consumable - the non-stick fades, and the question is how many years you get and whether the brand replaces it under warranty without an argument. We read the recent verified reviews for the failure patterns (coating gone in weeks, food sticking after three months, handles that run hot, thin bases that warp), weight the warranty reality, and rank on what owners report after the honeymoon - not the launch-day badge.
